Monika R. Oyama, a Principal of Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell, Ltd., has been admitted to practice law in the State of California. Ms. Oyama is excited about expanding her practice to serve our clients in California.
Monika Oyama is an integral member of the firm's Japan practice, representing Japanese corporations and their U.S. subsidiaries throughout North America in all stages of business. Ms. Oyama's corporate practice focuses on cross-border and domestic business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, dissolutions and liquidations, financing transactions, joint ventures, minority investments, private placements, and counseling on CFIUS matters. As a member of the firm's Commercial, Competition & Trade practice, Ms. Oyama regularly assists clients on a myriad of commercial transactions, including sales representative and distributorship relationships involving the development, manufacture, and sale of goods, services, and technology, manufacturing and supply arrangements, and consulting services, warehousing and OEM agreements, and equipment leases.
Monika Oyama is the Chair of Masuda Funai's Associate Liaison Committee and leads the Visiting Attorney Program at the firm. Ms. Oyama is actively involved in a number of Japanese organizations, including serving as Vice Chair of the Chicago Mita-kai (Keio University alumni group).
