Ryu Fukuyama and Sachiyo Yamada Miller Spoke at 2020 SelectUSA Investment Conference

On February 26, 2020, Ryu Fukuyama and Sachiyo Yamada Miller of Masuda Funai spoke at the 2020 SelectUSA Investment Conference in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Fukuyama, an associate in the Firm’s Corporate, Finance & Acquisition’s practice, was part of a panel discussion on the topic of “U.S. Investment 101 – Legal, Taxation and Insurance.” Ms. Yamada Miller, an associate in the Firm’s Employment, Labor & Benefits practice, participated in a panel discussion on the topic of “Discrimination-Free Workplace and Compliance Measurement.” The  one-day event covered workforce issues, the digital marketplace, and business culture and included presentations on other topics relevant to those organizations looking to invest in the U.S.: Enticement of the U.S. Economy and Trade Policies; Visa Application Screening – from Consul’s Perspective; Strategy of Hiring Quality People in the U.S.; IT Strategy: Digital Platform, SNS, Personal Information Protection; Logistics Management – Global Supply Chain, Distribution at Home & Abroad; and Best Practice We Can Learn from Executives of Japanese Affiliated Companies Doing Business in the U.S.
