Masuda Funai Expands IP Litigation Practice with Lateral Hire
Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell, Ltd. has announced that Joseph Saltiel has joined its Chicago office as a Principal in the firm's Litigation and Intellectual Property Practice Groups.
"Joe is a great addition to our firm and the expansion of our capabilities in the patent litigation area," according to Managing Director, Steven L. Katz. "His intellectual property expertise and strong litigation track record will greatly benefit our clients and we look forward to his contributions."
Saltiel has extensive experience counseling clients in a wide array of litigation and intellectual property matters, including patents, ITC actions, trademarks, trade secrets, unfair competition, and copyrights. He has provided clients with pre-litigation counsel, licensing advice, legal opinions, and technical evaluations on intellectual property matters. Saltiel's experience spans a variety of technologies, including software, semiconductors, LCDs, medical devices, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals.
Previously, Saltiel was a partner at Jenner & Block, and he has repeatedly been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" in intellectual property litigation.
Saltiel received his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law, magna cum laude. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago Graduate College, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
