Masuda Funai Elects Two Attorneys as Equity Principals
Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell, Ltd. is pleased to announce the advancement of two attorneys, George H. Kobayashi and Jennifer R.M.C. Watson, to equity principal effective January 1, 2014. Mr. Kobayashi and Ms. Watson were previously income principals with the Firm.

"Their legal expertise, experience and commitment have earned them this promotion and we look forward to their continued contributions and success."
Mr. Kobayashi is Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group, and a member of the Business and Distribution & Sales Groups. He has in-depth experience counseling clients on distribution, licensing and sales representative agreements, as well as advising clients on the development, protection, sale, transfer and licensing of intellectual property, inventions and technology. Mr. Kobayashi ‘s corporate experience includes the establishment of corporations and limited liability companies. He has assisted clients with corporate tax issues and corporate reorganizations, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Kobayashi worked as a Product Development Manager in Tokyo prior to law school, and he is fluent in Japanese. He earned his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and his B.S.B.A. from Creighton University.
A member and Chair of the Firm's Business Group, Ms. Watson concentrates her practice in corporate and finance matters, including negotiating and documenting a wide variety of transactions, corporate reorganizations and restructurings and general corporate and shareholder matters. She assists clients with entity selection and formation of corporations, limited liability companies and other business entities, including counseling clients on the international, federal and state tax implications of these structures. As a member of the Employment, Labor & Benefits practice, Ms. Watson counsels clients on executive compensation, retirement plans and other employee benefits matters. She earned her J.D. from Northwestern University and her B.A., summa cum laude, from North Central College, and she is a Certified Public Accountant.
