Masuda Funai Attends Midwest U.S.-Japan/Japan-Midwest U.S. Associations Conference

Four members of Masuda Funai recently travelled to Minneapolis for the Midwest U.S.-Japan/Japan-Midwest U.S. Associations conference. Thomas McMenamin, Chairman; Dayne Kono, Principal; Bryan Funai, Principal and Kaori Stearney, Senior Client Services Representative were in attendance for the three-day conference. This year's conference brought together government from Japan and the Midwest United States to share ideas with executives of companies from both countries.

As part of the conference, Masuda Funai co-hosted a breakfast on Tuesday, September 18 for more than 50 Illinois delegates, Japanese companies and Japan government officials. David Vaught, Director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) gave a keynote address. Among the attendees was Mr. Kiyoshi Ueda, Governor of Japan's Saitama Prefecture, former Illinois Governor James Thompson, Mr. Yuzaburo Mogi, Honorary CEO and Chairman of Kikkoman Corporation, Hironori Sawada, Acting Consul-General of Japan at Chicago, and Dan Seals, Assistant Director, DCEO.
