Masuda Funai Promotes Three Attorneys to Income Principal

Chicago, IL- Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell, Ltd. is pleased to announce it has advanced George K. Kobayashi, Reynard L. Tanig and Jennifer R.M.C. Watson to Income Principal from Associate. All three attorneys are based out of the firm's Chicago office.

Mr. Kobayashi focuses his practice on intellectual property and business transactions. He assists clients in the prosecution of trademark and copyright infringement claims and has appeared in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Mr. Kobayashi's corporate experience includes the establishment of corporations, limited liability companies and joint ventures. He has assisted clients with corporate tax issues and corporate reorganizations, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Kobayashi is a graduate of Creighton University and John Marshall Law School.

Mr. Tanig has extensive experience in administering estates, including litigation of contested matters, representation in probate court proceedings and the preparation and filing of federal and state estate tax returns, for individuals with assets, heirs and beneficiaries both in the U.S. and abroad. He also assists citizens, resident aliens and non-resident aliens in preparing estate plans involving wills, various types of trusts, durable powers of attorney, charitable foundations and family partnerships. Mr. Tanig is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and DePaul University College of Law.

Ms. Watson advises clients on a broad range of business matters, including negotiating and documenting a wide variety of transactions, corporate reorganizations and restructurings and general corporate and shareholder matters. She assists clients with entity selection and formation of corporations, limited liability companies and other business entities, including counseling clients on the international, federal and state tax implications of these structures. As part of her employee benefits practice, she designs, drafts, reviews and counsels clients on executive compensation and employment agreements, qualified and non-qualified retirement plans and welfare benefit plans. Ms. Watson is a graduate of North Central College and Northwestern University School of Law.
