Richard (Dick) Briggs brings almost 40 years of legal experience and over 25 years of "front line" legal advice to his clients and has developed expertise regarding legal aspects of relationships with dealers and dealer terminations. Mr. Briggs has extensive experience counseling clients in a wide array of legal matters, including distribution and general corporate matters.

Mr. Briggs joins Masuda Funai after decades of serving as General Counsel for a major farm equipment and engine supplier. Previously, he practiced law at two international law firms in Chicago and was an Intelligence Officer in the United States Navy, stationed at Commander U.S. Naval Forces, Japan.

Mr. Briggs is admitted to practice in California and Illinois. He received his Juris Doctor from the Northwestern University School of Law. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Japanese Studies from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Northwestern University.

For 26 years, Mr. Briggs was the President of the Owen L. Coon Foundation, which has funded the Clarion Dewitt Hardy Scholarship Program at Northwestern University for more than 80 years.
