Japanese Citizens Eligible to Participate in 2014 Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery for US Permanent Resident Status Running from October 2 through November 3

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) released information regarding the Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery Program (DV-2104) for the fiscal year 2014. The DV-2014 lottery registration will last only 30 days (October 2 through November 3, 2012). The DOS makes available 50,000 "green card" annually to persons from countries such as Japan with low rates of immigration to the United States. The DV-2014 registration entries can only be made on the electronic diversity entry form. Official information in Japanese regarding DV-2014 eligibility, instructions and the electronic diversity entry from can be found at: www.dvlottery.state.gov.

Beginning on May 1, 2013, applicants can check the status of their registration to determine if they were selected online via Entry Status Check at: www.dvlottery.state.gov. The Entry Status Check is the ONLY manner in which entrants will be notified of their selection. DOS will NOT mail or email any correspondence notifying people of their selection. The Entry Status Check will be the only way in which selected individuals will be provided further instructions on immigrant visa procedures.
